LECTURER OF DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA ENGINEERING STUDY PROGRAM TRAINING FOR CREATING LEARNING VIDEOS AND EDUCATIONAL WEBSITES FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS IN CIMANGGIS DISTRICT
Training on making learning videos and educational websites for junior high school teachers in Cimanggis District, Depok City aims to improve teachers' digital competence. Based on the results of interviews with several teachers, the deputy principal for the Ibnu Hajar Boarding School (IHBS) Middle School curriculum and the deputy principal for the At-Taufiq Middle School curriculum, the technology used in learning is currently limited to the use of power points and videos whose sources are taken directly from internet, currently teachers are not able to make learning videos based on their own ideas that are in accordance with learning outcomes.
Therefore, the D4 Digital Multimedia Engineering (TMD) study program, Department of Information and Computer Engineering, is holding community service activities by conducting training in making learning videos and educational websites for junior high school teachers in Cimanggis District, Depok City. In this activity, teachers were trained to create Canva-based learning videos and educational websites using WordPress. This activity was carried out through several stages including preliminary study, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and follow-up which was attended by 20 teachers from IHBS Middle School and At-Taufiq Middle School.
At the preliminary study stage, a meeting was held between TMD study program lecturers and partners, namely IHBS Middle School and At-Taufiq Middle School, to discuss the administration of the service being carried out. Then at the preparation stage, partners were actively involved in analyzing the problems and solutions needed by teachers at the two schools, namely training in making Canva-based learning videos and educational websites. And at the implementation stage, IHBS Middle School contributed in providing facilities and infrastructure, and presented 10 teachers, and At-Taufiq Middle School presented 10 teachers, bringing the total number of participants to 20 people. The activity began with remarks from the Head of the Digital Multimedia Engineering Study Program, providing material and practice regarding Canva-based learning videos, and continued with material and practice related to educational websites.
After the training was carried out, a questionnaire was filled out to determine the participants' response to the training. The questionnaire was made using a Likert scale. Based on the training and the results of the questionnaire given after the training, a response of 79% of participants stated that this training provided benefits in increasing teachers' knowledge and competence in creating learning videos and educational websites to support the learning process.
Finally, at the monitoring and evaluation stage, partners are involved in the mentoring process carried out by the team to complete the task, mentoring after the training is carried out so that participants can ask questions if they experience difficulties in completing products in the form of Canva-based learning videos and educational websites.
In this service, lecturers from the TMD study program were also assisted by students from the TMD study program at the Jakarta State Polytechnic to technically prepare the creation of modules, video tutorials and educational websites as well as assistance during training.
