Workshop on Preparing Quality Documents for the ICT Department in 2023
In the world of education, preparing quality documents is important to ensure the quality and sustainability of a study program. The Department of Information and Computer Engineering is one of the departments that has a vital role in producing graduates who are competent in the field of information and computer technology. To update the ICT Department's quality documents in line with the PNJ quality documents, a Workshop on Preparing ICT Department Quality Documents was held on September 27 2023.
In this activity, the ICT Department academic community listened to guidance from Mrs. Dra. Bernadeta Sri Rahayu Purwanti, M.Si as head of the Center for Quality Assurance and Learning Development. Next, the ICT Quality Assurance Group explained the preparation of UPPS quality documents in accordance with Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Regulation no. 53.
Quality documents are guidelines containing standards and procedures that must be followed by ICT Department lecturers in managing study programs. This document covers various aspects, such as: curriculum, teaching, research, community service, and other supporting facilities. By having a structured quality document, the ICT Department can ensure that every activity carried out is in accordance with standards so as to produce graduates who are competent in the field of information and computer technology.
One important aspect in preparing quality documents is curriculum development. ICT departments must ensure that the curriculum offered is relevant to the latest developments in information and computer technology and in accordance with the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) curriculum launched by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. ICT departments must also pay attention to student needs and expectations and ensure that the graduates produced have competencies that meet the demands of the job market.
In addition to curriculum development, quality documents also include effective teaching procedures. ICT departments must have clear standards regarding teaching, evaluation and assessment methods. Apart from that, in this digital era, ICT departments must also pay attention to the use of technology in the learning process. The use of appropriate learning technology can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of learning, as well as prepare students to face challenges in the era of digitalization of the world of work.
In terms of research, quality documents must contain clear procedures regarding research carried out by lecturers and students of the ICT Department. The research carried out must be relevant to the field of information and computer technology, and can contribute to the development of science. Quality documents must also include community service procedures that involve the application of information and computer technology to solve problems in society.
Supporting facilities are also an important component in quality documents. ICT departments must ensure that they have adequate facilities to support learning, research and community service activities. These facilities include computer laboratories, the latest software, a complete library, and reliable network infrastructure. With adequate facilities, the ICT Department can provide an optimal learning experience for students.
It can be concluded that the preparation of quality documents for the ICT Department is the right step in improving the quality, resilience and sustainability of the Informatics and Computer Engineering Department.
