WASTE MANAGEMENT TRAINING AT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY KAMPUNG WASTE BANK KAMPOENG BERSERI, BOGOR
As we know, the problem of waste accumulation in society is a common problem that cannot be resolved in a short time. Accumulation of waste can have negative impacts on the environment, including decreasing the quality of the environment, aesthetics, and the presence of waste that is not processed wisely can cause flooding and environmental pollution.
To overcome the waste problem in the Bogor Regency environment, the Bogor Regency government issued regent regulation no. 2 of 2014, which states the 3R concept, namely reduce, reuse, recycle. The local government hopes that the 3R concept will be able to increase community enthusiasm in utilizing the waste they have so that it has economic value. And as a follow-up to the regent's regulation, the Regional Government of Bogor Regency issued Regional Regulation No. 6 of 2016 which regulates Environmental Protection and Management. The Regional Government of Bogor Regency declared Bogor My Regency Green and Clean.
The Computer and Network Engineering Study Program (TKJ) Department of Information and Computer Engineering, Jakarta State Polytechnic took part in overcoming the waste problem in the Bogor Regency environment by holding waste management training activities at the Kampoeng Berseri Environmentally Friendly Village Waste Bank, Bogor.
Previously, in the Kampoeng Berseri Bogor neighborhood, one of the programs carried out to realize regional regulation No. 6 of 2016, namely Environmentally Friendly Villages (KRL), was running. KRL can be defined as a local program in order to increase community participation in environmental protection and management in a structured and sustainable manner towards a climate village program. The form of KRL activities is the provision of locations where the community makes concrete efforts or actions to manage the green environment in a regular and sustainable manner. The scope of the program is drought control, waste management, creation of biopores, provision of waste banks, and creation of recycled waste with economic value. The 2 objectives of the realization of the KRL program are to educate and increase community participation in environmental management.
However, the problem faced in implementing KRL in the Kampoeng Berseri Bogor environment is the lack of citizen participation in utilizing waste banks as a new economic source. This is because waste processing only collects plastic waste and then sells it without processing it first. As a result, the economic value obtained by residents is not optimal. Apart from that, understanding waste processing that is less than optimal has an impact on increasing economic value that is less than optimal.
Therefore, the TKJ Study Program collaborates with the local government to conduct waste management training at the Environmentally Friendly Village Waste Bank, Kampoeng Berseri, Bogor, accompanied by the delivery of waste chopping equipment, so that the waste sold can be processed first so that the value of the waste produced from using the waste bank at KRL is can increase economically and can foster more enthusiasm from residents in processing and collecting waste.
